Other than this blog, I'm involved in several other endeavors. One of those is an ongoing DJ / MC / Beatbox / Live PA Competition (www.whenskillsturndeadly.com) at Gramaphone Records. We had our first contest in September and October and are about to start the second this Saturday November 12. I wrote an article for Brilliant Mad Magazine covering the first event. When Skills Turn Deadly November 2011 DJ Competition "ALL GENRE"
Brilliantly Mad is also a partner with Solarium Deluna. This is an artist collective that we are about to open in Humboldt Park. We being myself, Taylor Entwistle and Simon Jay. The goal for the collective is to provide a safe, comfortable, and affordable space for healers, artists, musicians and DJ's to throw positive events which will benefit the community and the city. We are about to throw our second fundraiser which will go towards the first month's rent. This fundraiser is actually two nights at a space graciously donated by our friend Jonathon Hirsh (http://www.facebook.com/TheLivingRoomGallery).
The events are are on Nov. 12 and 18 from 7 pm - midnite
