Dr Dre - The Chronic 20 Years Later

NPR has a great story on the 20th anniversary of Dr. Dre's groundbreaking album The Chronic, the L.A. Riots and how gangster rap went mainstream.

This album played an important role in my own music education. In 1993, I was a young "white boy" in the army stationed in Germany. When this album hit, it was played everywhere ... where I worked and in the barracks. Before then, I wasn't really a fan of rap, but this one grew on me. I eventually bought the album myself and was then turned onto more hip hop like A Tribe Called Quest, Outkast, and the Hieroglyphics Crew. 20 Years later the album sounds as fresh as ever. The production on this one is probably the best I've ever heard. Enjoy the full album and studio outtakes below -
