LOTS OF NEW MIXES BY ME - NO BOATS AKA AABSTRACT

I wanted to, first off, apologize in not attending to this site as often lately. I've been busy with a lot of other things and I sometimes wonder if there's even a point, as it seems people don't even seem to wander away from social media sites. One of the things that I've been doing lately is making actual mixes on a regular basis and wanted to share them here. I'm trying to do something a little different. I am trying to spin every genre that I love and even make some mixes with different genres. Check out my most recent mixes and follow me on Mixcloud. All have download links as well.

ALL DAY E'RY DAY :: DROELOE x Holly - Allday

DROELOE x Holly - Allday

I used to worry about staying relevant in this music game, the older I got. Funny thing is, I don't worry about that anymore. I think I'm more relevant than a lot of people my age and maybe not to some others. Point is - I don't really give a damn because there's enough good stuff out there for everyone to like. For example - Droeloe ... made up of members - Vincent Rooijers and Hein Hamer. Droeloe is creating musical soundscapes that are hard to define but easy to listen to.

MONDAY'S TRIPLE ESPRESSO :: Sharu - Euphoric Monday Mix

Sharu - Euphoric Monday Mix

Ahead of the curve for most of you in the America's, I bring you Sharu, Euphoric Monday mix. Actually laid down a few months back. It really should start Monday. Shoutouts to Serious Stuff for bringing such beautiful tunes.

BUMP N TIME :: Blair Norf - Klymera

Blair Norf

Hailing from Vegas, I don't know much about Blair Norf. I know that he's produced tracks for some pretty prolific producers but feels comfortable in the underground scene. God bless' em. These tracks are tops.

ZZZZZzzzzzZZZZZ :: Hurt Everybody - Slept All Day (ft. Saba) [prod. Mulatto Beats]

Hurt Everybody - Slept All Day (ft. Saba) [prod. Mulatto Beats]

For those who don't know, I recently transplanted to Atlanta aka A-Town aka the ATL aka HOTlanta (possibly due to the summers or Freak-nik, or both). I love it here, all the conveniences and activities of a big city and yet in the bosom of the polite south. What Atlanta is mostly know for, other than great southern cooking is music ... hip-hop to be true and I've experienced it's influence so much since I moved in. It was after a week of working, that I decided to hit the Korean spa in the near suburbs and turned the dial to what is the NPR / Georgia Tech radio. Now late night is always chock full of great hip-hop and even instrumentals for your freestyle parties. On this night, they happened to play this tune, which for me set itself apart because of a) the melody and b) the honesty of the singer, who I found out later was Supa Bwe. A little more research, and I discovered that these guys were not from Brooklyn or Atlanta's little 5 points but from Chicago's Westside - Hurt Everybody. So there ya go, it always comes back full circle and for me it was clear that from my days in Chicago to now my future in Atlanta - there was a connection.

WOOOT NEW SHADOW NEW LABEL :: DJ SHADOW - THE LIQUID AMBER EP

DJ SHADOW - THE LIQUID AMBER EP

DJ Shadow ... the classic samplist and producer / dj is back on the scene with the Liquid Amber EP ... a salvo to his newest LIQUID AMBER label. At the top, is Ghost Town - a haunted hyperactive electronic cut ... so raw it can only be Shadow. Next is Mob, a bouncy rhythm that is sample filled in that Shadow style. Finally, a remix of Six Days - Machinedrum style - large on the high hats.

TWERK IT GIRL :: Armin van Buuren - Ping Pong (Dani Deahl Remix)

Armin van Buuren - Ping Pong (Dani Deahl Remix)

Probably my all time favorite female DJ / Artist - Dani Deahl has blown the lid off Armin van Buuren's Ping Pong track. With much praise, not only all over the blogosphere, but also reaching #32 (at the moment) on Hypem's Popular track list and #17 on Beatport's top 100 Hip-Hop (cause they haven't separated out Trap music yet), it seems Dani has hit gold with this one. Of course, she has to have her haters too. At least, one trance purist on twitter said in no uncertain terms - how dare she defile the trance God Armin by creating a trap remix ... to which she replied - it's all about sharing the music to those who might not listen to trance.

Regardless of your BPM persuasion, check out Dani's latest remix ... I think you'll enjoy it.

BONUS: Justice - We Are Your Friends (Dani Deahl Purrrnt Up Remix)

CRANKKED :: Nadus - Nxwxrk (RL Grime Edit)

Nadus - Nxwxrk (RL Grime Edit)

I apologize. I've been busy with life and neglecting this site for too long. It won't ever seem to die. I keep noticing new people liking our facebook page, so that has to mean something, right? I do wish I had a dedicated staff to manage this site and maybe someday I will, until then it's just me and a few music-lovers who remember that they have this site that they can contribute to.

Today, I want to share another remix from one of my favorite artists - R.L. Grime. You see, I have a weakness for Jamaican samples ("put your back in it...") and just great build-up tunes in general. So enjoy R.L.'s rework of Nadus - Nxwxrk.

J-XCLUSIVE :: Julian Lozano - My Own Lane

Julian Lozano - My Own Lane

Longtime brosef and rapper Julian Lozano a.k.a. J-X has been busy since his recent transplant to Louisiana. My Own Lane, which has recently dropped, is Julian's anthem to doing it his way - manifesting his own reality. This is a hype tune with nice a "dirty south" trap melody providing backup.

Keep doing it your way, brother!

Skee-Lo - I Wish (Meaux Green Remix)

 I Wish (Meaux Green Remix)

I wish ... oh I wish I could make a remix as tight as this. Meaux Green's I Wish remix takes up back to the nolstalgic 90's when Skee-Lo had a dream. Play this one out and you'll be sure to fill the dance floor.

Keys N Krates - I Just Cant Deny

I Just Cant Deny

Keys N Krates are making some bad-ass trap music these days. It all started with Treat Me Right earlier this year and now they've dropped - I Just Cant Deny. Always melodic, upbeat and catchy ... that seems to be the formula they've got going and it's working.

20 Years of Ravin'

20 Years of Ravin'

When I was young, I listened to a lot of electronic based music - New Order, Depeche Mode, etc. But it wasn't until the early 90's and in particular 1993 that I got into DJ led dance and rave music. You see, I was stationed in Germany in the military at the time and the rave clubs and parties over there were burgeoning. I got an earful of that repetitive, driving sound and the vibe from all the other participants and I couldn't stop. I wanted to share a few of the anthems that I still listen to after all these years - the ones that were formative in my music education, whether they be techno, house, trance, breakbeat, drum 'n bass, dubstep, trap or downtempo, from that time until the present day.

And back to where it began-

BANGER :: DAN FARBER - Rattlesnake [Feat. Kokoro]

Another email submission in my inbox today ... this time "It's Dan!". Dan Farber, that is. This 26 year old DJ/Producer from Tel Aviv, Israel, started nearly 10 years ago as the in-house producer and artist for Israel's biggest rap collective TACT. After a messy break up, he went out on his own and has since then produced some of Israel's biggest hits. Rattlesnake is a hype heavy banger of a track that will make you climax at least a few times before it's over.

Starfoxxx - Do you right

Chicago's David Beltran is Starfoxxx. David Beltran gambles on acid and leaps tall building with little effort. David Beltran makes great fucking music. David Beltran is an enigma, but if you are cute enough he will invite you over to watch Netflix and open his pandora's box. He is the real Kawaii ... Kawaii Desu!

The weekend is almost here ... time for another killer trap remix. This time it's Wicked Games by The Weeknd. Doing the deed is HugLife a.k.a DJ Slink. This one is a bit slowed down, but still hype enough to get the blood going.

NEEDS SUGAR :: Calvin Harris - Sweet Nothing (feat. Florence Welch) (Diplo and Grand Theft Remix)

While listening to the Diplo channel on Pandora, I came across this sweet gem of a track. The incredible vocals provided by Florence Welch who is the incredible lead singer of Florence and the Machine, just in case you did not know, compliment this melodic trap filled tune perfectly.
