The Marco :: LANCE I,II & III

I have a google alert for "burning man" - hilarious, I know. Impossible to keep up on, especially before I put quotation marks around it. So so dumb... just another daily email to ignore and add to my 3,000+ unread, un-valued first world internet property items. Like contemporary Oregon Trail that we actually take seriously. Ha. Whoa.

I'm not cool enough to have any idea what's going on here, but this trilogy (I doubt there is a number 4) made me laugh, feel like maybe I would fit in somewhere in this world and want to share the soundtrack to my most recent bout of procrastination/cat-like avoidance strategies.

And the second video is called 'Burning Man'

fuckmylife (deadmau5) - petspetspetspetspetspetspetspetsPETSpets

The artist formerly known as Deadmau5 - fuckmylife a.k.a. Joel Zimmerman has been making magic lately. Within the last two days, he's released 4 new tracks on his Soundcloud page which are all very similar and could easily be mixed together. In Nyquist Redeux and Nyquist Redeux2, I can almost hear the Barber's Adagio for Strings melody in the background - although chopped up a bit. stepstepstepstepstepstepstep and petspetspetspetspetspetspetspetsPETSpets are identical, except the latter is longer.

Will Joel continue under the fuckmylife moniker? Shouldn't I then be able to edit his Wikipedia page? Enquiring minds want to know!

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT :: Mansions on the Moon (download)

Did you ever want to live on the Moon? I did. It would be so easy to build a mansion there, with very little gravity and plenty of rock. I never gave up on that dream and neither did this band. Mansions on the Moon was formed in 2011 in Virginia Beach, VA. They were comprised of Ted Wendler on guitar and vocals, Ben Hazlegrove on keyboards, and Lane Shaw on drums. Both Shaw and Hazlegrove were also members of Pnuma Trio. Jeff Maccora later joined on bass.
Their first release, Paradise Falls (Presented by Diplo & DJ Benzi), garnered the attention of many prominent blogs and in 2011 hypetrak called them one of the "most interesting recording artists to have emerged this year." Paradise Falls includes collaborations with Xaphoon Jones (of Chiddy Bang), Deadmau5, Washed Out, and Big Gigantic, among others. The trio has worked closely with members of N*E*R*D, and Pharrell Williams served as executive producer on their 2012 EP Lightyears.
The group has produced official remixes for Foster the People and Zee Avi, and produced the Mac Miller track "PA Nights" on the album Blue Slide Park. In 2011 the group joined Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller on the Green Carpet Tour, and also performed at the Snowball Music Festival. In 2012 they played South by Southwest and the Lightyears Tour. Here's some songs for you to enjoy, some from Lightyears and some remixes.

Raise Your Weapons and Can You Hear Me Now

This song has been stuck in my head for months as I've heard my roommate singing it throughout the house. I finally asked my roommate what the track was tonight.

Oh and I recently discovered Pretty Lights... Yeah, I'm so far behind the bandwagon I can't even see it's dust.

Anyway, I found Shelton Harris rhyming over a Pretty Lights track. And it is good.
