Capital Cities - Staying Alive (cover)

Los Angeles based Capital Cities have recently done a cover of the famous Bee Gees' tune Staying Alive. This one might be better in my opinion than the original. The song sounds very fresh and yet true to the original.

CASH RULES EVERYTHING AROUND ME :: Capital Cities - Safe And Sound (Cash Cash Remix)

It's friday and I'm off for the next 48 hours. I'm ready to listen to some good music and get down on some video games. Let's begin with Capital Cities - Safe and Sound (Cash Cash Remix). New Jersey based Cash Cash is getting busy of late. Their single Michael Jackson, released in July 2012 is getting major airplay in The Netherlands.

Capital Cities - Nothing Compares 2 U (download)

An excellent, excellent cover of Sinead O'Connor's song. Partnerships born out of a Craig’s List ad rarely end well, and being dubbed the “best band in Los Angeles” by Perez Hilton can be a dubious distinction—unless you’re talking about Capital Cities. Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian, the front men behind the breakout pop-rock group, are a success story spawned by the Internet that has continued to blossom. The Los Angeles-based act, which boasts a five-piece live set, took both the blogosphere and the shores of California by storm with 2011’s debut, self-titled EP, and haven’t looked back since. Lead single 'Safe and Sound' shot to #2 on The Hype Machine and #1 on South American radio, which helped the band tour that continent, twice. This year’s 'Kangaroo Court' was a worthy follow up and has erased any doubt that Capital Cities is a one hit wonder. Their electronic-infused pop rock represents all that is right in modern music making and makes the perfect soundscape for a day at the beach--or a night in the dark part of town--as long as you’re ready to dance.
